Music producers Flume and Toro y Moi collaborated on a new track called “The Difference” as well as a music video. What does it all mean?
In the music video for Flume‘s latest single “The Difference” featuring Toro y Moi, the two artists appear side by side in different frames. Flume is running a lot, but Toro y Moi just stands there.
“Who cares about a game/ When it’s all been replaced/ Each level feels the same/ It really goes either way/ I don’t know about you but I got to get it out and I don’t know how soon/ But if we die, I want to bring the whole thing…” sings Toro y Moi, aka Chaz Bear, singer-songwriter.
Harley “Flume” Streten stated, “We made this song between a day at my place in LA and and a day at Chaz’s spot in Oakland. This was our first time working together. I’ve been a Toro Y Moi fan for a while. His song ‘Talamak’ is a longtime favorite. I listened to that one a lot when I first started Flume as a project,” in the video description.
The Australian released the new song as a single. He dropped four singles in 2019, “Rushing Back” featuring Vera Blue, “Let You Know” featuring London Grammar, as well as “Quits” and “Friends” with Reo Cragun. So it seems likely that a fourth studio length album is on the way.
Flume posted the music video on his official Instagram account, including this behind the scenes image. He also said that he will be playing Red Rocks with friends from June 8-10. And he will be playing music from all of his albums. Toro y Moi confirmed he will be there on his Instagram.
