male and female dancers dance fight over scroll amid lasers

Alan Walker’s ‘On My Way’ Features Spies Dance Fighting

In the official dance video for “On My Way” by Alan Walker, Sabrina Carpenter and Farruko two spies duke it out through dance.

Dance fighting is a time honored form of battle perhaps best known from the musical Westside Story (1957). Alan Walker proves it’s still relevant today in the “dance video” for “On My Way” with Sabrina Carpenter and Farruko. It appears two secret agents are after the same scroll.

Take aim and fire away/ I’ve never been so wide awake/ No, nobody but me can keep me safe/ And I’m on my way…” sings Carpenter in the chorus, before Farruko starts singing in Spanish.

Last March Walker released the “On My Way” music video about a woman’s journey through Europe to discover the true meaning of AW spelled out in lasers. It was popular on YouTube garnering 155 million plays since then. In the official dance video there is a dance fighting routine.

Usually record labels do lyric videos before the official video. And it’s pretentious to assume the lyrics are that good before testing out the single in the market. So the dance video post music video is a refreshing change. And it appeals to all of those dancers out there somewhere.
