TOKiMONSTA and EarthGang look suspiciously fried in the music video for “Fried for the Night” their latest single and music video.
Los Angeles based music producer TOKiMONSTA, and Atlanta rapper/singers EarthGang debuted “Fried for Life” and music video. “Fried” is street slang for inebriated on LSD, or taking acid.
“Superpowers, April showers, for me ’til I take ’em down/ Move it slower, ride it fast, goin’ through some real shit now/ Cotton candy in my cup, sour patches, purple ‘rup/ Cannot trust you, cannot tell you/ Something that you wanted out/ Fried for the night/ No slowin’ down…” raps Johnny “Olu” Venus of EarthGang. His associate is Doctor Dut aka WowGr8.
The track is the first single from TOKiMONSTA’s upcoming album Oasis Nocturno expected March 20, 2020 via Young Art Records. This will be her third studio length album, and the first one since Lune Rouge in 2015.
EarthGang released their sixth LP Mirrorland via Interscope last September. It includes a collaboration with Kehlani. They contributed “Collide” featuring Tiana Major9 to the Queen and Slim (2019) soundtrack. They are performing it on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
On her official Instagram account, Jennifer “TOKiMONSTA” Lee takes a break from all the acid tripping to invite us to her Oasis Nocturno tour. She will be on a North American tour this spring from April to May, starting with her performance at Coachella 2020. She will also be playing Holy Ship! Wrecked 2020 on January 22, as well as EDC Mexico on March 1. Cop tickets at her website.
