Kehlani finally reveals her baby bump in the official video for “Butterfly” in which she emerges from her pregnancy cocoon.
In the music video for “Butterfly” Kehlani plays a very pregnant butterfly wearing pasties. Her breasts are swollen and engorged with milk and she is almost ready to have that baby.
“Know we’re scared of us, what this might become/ Ain’t no goin’ back no more/ We’re in the same bed, cannot lay awake/ Let’s fill up this space with us/ Butterfly, yeah/ You make me feel brand new…” sings Kehlani, aka Kehlani Ashley Parrish from Oakland, CA.
This is the third single from her While We Wait mixtape that dropped last month. When she released the first single “Nights Like This” featuring Ty Dollar $ign last January, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to release an album. The mixtape hit number one on the R&B charts on March 7.
In the music video for “Nunya” featuring Dom Kennedy two weeks ago, they covered up her pregnant belly with a big, floor length puffer jacket. It was an old school hip hop video and winter sports theme. But everyone in the comments section was like, when’s the baby due Kehlani? We know you’re pregnant Kehlani. So they must have decided to just roll with it.
