For their new music video Drax Project tapped Hailee Steinfeld to sing a duet in “Woke up Late” and Liza Koshy to dance and act.
New Zealand band Drax Project and Haliee Steinfeld worked together on a remake of “Woke up Late” with vocals by the latter. In the music video Liza Koshy dances through the walk of shame.
“Last night, we met at 1/ Drank ’til 2, danced ’til 4/ Walked you home, awake ’til dawn/ Slept ’til noon and now I want more…” sing Steinfeld and Drax Project frontman Shaan Singh. Other members of the band are Sam Thomson on bass, Matt Beachen on drums and guitarist Ben O’Leary.
Koshy dances from doorstep to doorstep in the video, even at the bus stop and on the bus. Even though if you really did that there would be a lot of parolees trying to flirt with you afterwards. The women on the bus politely ignore the crazy dancing lady, which is more like real life.
Steinfeld is nowhere to be seen in the video. Maybe the actress was too busy pouting in her trailer. She also contributed vocals to “Let Me Go” with Alesso featuring Florida George Line. And last December she contributed “Back to Life” to the Bumblebee (2018) soundtrack.
“Back to Life” was originally track one on Drax Project’s LP NOON back in June 2018. At the time it was a solo.
