This summer the Louis Vuitton New Wave handbag collection combines rock and disco in quilted calf leather and gold tone hardware.
The summer 2019 handbag collection at Louis Vuitton is named after the new wave movement. New wave is a style of music from the late 70’s and early 80’s that combined elements of rock, disco and pop music. Now the iconic logo comes on quilted leather bum bags and handbags.
The New Wave Bumbag ($1,820) comes in black or white. It is the most festival friendly bag as it leaves the hands free to make heart hands and such. This is a calf leather bag with a vintage gold signature and a leather zip pull with the name Vuitton written on it in rainbow colors.
The New Wave Camera Bag ($1,800) is a shoulder bag big enough to hold a digital camera in there. It comes in pink, white or black. The comfortable leather and chain strap can be worn as a crossbody as well as on one shoulder. The dimensions are about 8.46 x 6.1 x 2.36 inches.
The centerpiece of the new collection is the New Wave Chain Bag MM ($2,270). The quilted bag comes in your choice of red, pink, white, fuchsia, turquoise or black calf leather. The detachable handle reads Vuitton in a rainbow print. The chain is adjustable so you can change the style.
Louis Vuitton did a photo shoot for the New Wave collection in a cactus garden. It looks like they might be in Palm Springs or Coachella Valley, California.
