There is a new single and music video called “Free Yourself” by the Chemical Brothers. The music video is about advanced dancing robots.
Dance music legends the Chemical Brothers, aka Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons from England, have a new single called “Free Yourself.” The video portrays a warehouse full of dancing robots.
“Free yourself, free them, dance/ Free yourself, help to free me, free us…” repeats a female robotic voice over and over between the Chemical Brothers distinctive production.
The official video has a science fiction theme. Technology is not advanced enough to build a fully functional humanoid robot that has the capacity to dance. Dancing requires human emotions.
There is already an official remix of the song by Paranoid London that the Chemical Brothers encourage you to check out while you free yourself through dance. Watch it on YouTube.
On their official Instagram it looks like the Chemical Brothers have incorporated a giant neon robot into their live performance. Their next show is today in Mexico City. And they are scheduled to headline at weekend two at All Points East in London on the 24th of November.
The brothers released a second single with Beth Norton. It is a cover of “I Never Asked to Be Your Mountain” originally released by American singer-songwriter Tim Buckley in 1967. Their version sounds like a psychedelic folk throwback mixed with acid house, if you’re into that.
Stream and/or download “Free Yourself” by the Chemical Brothers where music is legally distributed.
