The Chainsmokers x Daily News Project Design Some Tops

Production duo the Chainsmokers and Toronto design studio Daily News Project got together and made limited edition shirts and hats.

The Chainsmokers, aka Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart, are one of the top selling production duos in the world with hits like “Closer,” “Don’t Let Me Down,” and “#Selfie.” Daily News Project is a design studio and clothing brand based in Toronto, Canada. They made some limited edition shirts.

This is Chapter 2 of the Strange Adventures Collection by the Chainsmokers x Daily News Project. Chapter 1 happened last May 2016. The company is not owned by the Chainsmokers, it was founded by Guillaume Viau and his brother Alex. This was confirmed to us in an email by Viau.

Daily News Project started out as a blog before getting into design. In a recent post, Viau discusses how they got into the business of creating merch for the Chainsmokers.

Drew, Alex, and I met a few years ago…when I interviewed them for our “A Moment With” series. Shortly after, they were visiting Toronto to play Veld Music Festival and I invited them on my family’s boat prior to their set. We stayed in touch since that day, and always found a way to hang whenever we’re in the same city. Fast forward to a few months later, they were on their Friend Zone tour and I drove down to meet up with them in London, Ontario. I brought them a bag full of clothes from our most recent Lost Shadows collection at the time, and they both loved it. After a few tequila shots, we naturally started talking about the clothes and came up with the idea that we should design them their own Strange Adventures line. We didn’t waste any time, and got to work on it the next day.
