“The Island – Pt. I (Dawn)” (Skrillex Remix) by Pendulum is for an upcoming remix compilation featuring Moby, Noisia and more.
Australian production duo Pendulum dropped their album Immersion in 2010, which Skrillex cites as a major influence. This year they will release a remix compilation titled The Reworks featuring reinterpretations by Moby, Noisia, this track from Skrillex and more.
Pendulum is composed of Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and El Hornet, from Perth, Australia. They are also the production group Knife Party. The Reworks is due on June 29, 2018. They have been previewing the new remixes via their official Instagram account.
According to Skrillex, aka Sonny Moore, “I bought a Pendulum vinyl when I was 16 and was on tour with my band From First To Last. It made me fall in love with drum and bass, and has been an inspiration to this day. It was an honor remixing Island.”
Pendulum and Skrillex also posted a music video to accompany the remix, seen above. It doesn’t say what it is about. It could be a woman running on Mars, or the stuff they see when they close their eyes. It must be space as she is wearing a white cat suit and a holstered weapon.

Skrellx produced a song on the Weeknd’s most recent EP, as well as one from Camila Cabello’s debut album.
