The music video for “Giant” by Rag’n’Bone Man and Calvin Harris is a confusing but optimistic mix about getting back to nature.
“Giant” by Calvin Harris and Rag’n’Bone Man is the third single off his upcoming album that hasn’t been named. It has the same retro house disco music vibe as “Promises” with Sam Smith or “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa, but Rag’n’Bone Man sings in a deep baritone voice.
“I am the giant/ Stand up on my shoulders, tell me what you see/ Cause I am the giant/ We’ll be breaking boulders, underneath our feet…” sings English singer-songwriter Rag’n’Bone Man, aka Rory Charles Graham. He appears later in the video surrounded by dancers wearing tracksuits.
Calvin Harris took the opportunity to participate in some outdoor activities, such as gathering fresh herbs, fishing in a canoe and horseback riding in the rain. It’s exactly what your life with him will be like when he finally saves you in a white Ferrari and takes you to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
On Instagram Rag’n’Bone Man stated, “I wrote this song four years ago reflecting about my childhood and how parents aren’t always as strong as they seem. ‘I am a giant,’ is me telling my parents, ‘It’s my time to look after you,’ but the production was never right. It just got left in the vault for all that time. Fast forward to 2018 and I got word Calvin wanted to work on it. He properly breathed a new life into a song I hold very dearly. It’s mad how it took this shape and I’m happy for people to finally hear it!!”
Calvin Harris will do an epic performance at the Brit Music Awards 2019 with Rag’n’Bone Man, Sam Smith and Dua Lipa on February 29.
