Y/Project Navy Denim Panties SS19

People Seem Genuinely Offended by These Y/Project Shorts

The reaction to Y/Project’s Navy Denim Panties on social media has been negative so far — mostly concerns about chaffing and pubes.

Y/Project’s Navy Denim Panties ($315) are causing some ire on social media, with commenters trolling away about how they do not care for the very short shorts. No, not at all.

If you have great legs and love the breezy feeling of wearing shorts, then they don’t look so bad. It’s not even a g-string. Unfortunately that does not seem to be most people who follow SSENSE.

One Facebook user commented, “Adult or baby Facebook has me covered 😂🤣 Why am I seeing this awful thing though!? 🤢,” accompanied by a photo of a diaper juxtaposed by the shorts. Another woman said, “If you have to get a Brazilian, you’re not wearing jeans.” A man commented, “Oh a denim diaper, dope,” which 20 people liked. Another lady said, “The chaffing ohhh for the love of Pete, The chaffing 😱🤢.” One woman wrote, “Yeah rocking denim panties that cover 15% of your labia is a thing right ?” Many questioned liking the page.

The main complaints are that it looks like a diaper, it will show the bikini line, and it will cause chaffing as the thighs rub together. Over 1,000 people commented on the post.

Street fashionistas were no less cruel on the official SSENSE Instagram account. One man had the nerve to comment, “This definitely ain’t it ladies,” as though anyone cared about his opinion. Another man commented, “Two words: fuck no.” There were over 300 comments.

According to SSENSE Y/Project was founded by Royal Academy of Antwerp, Belgian designer Glenn Martens in 2013. The unisex fashion label is well known for it’s reconstructed denim pieces such slashed jeans and oversized jackets. To learn more visit the official Y/Project website.
