Madonna is reinventing herself again as Madame X, and a new single called “Medellín” featuring Latin pop superstar Maluma.
Famous pop singer Madonna has debuted the first single from her 14th studio length album, “Medellín” featuring Maluma. And she premiered the epic official music video on the MTV.
“I took a pill and had a dream (Yo también)/ I went back to my 17th year/ Allowed myself to be naive (Dime)/ To be someone I’ve never been (Me encanta)/ I took a sip and had a dream/ And I woke up in Medellín (¿Te gusta?)/ The sun was caressing my skin (Dime)/ Another me could now begin…” sing Madonna and Maluma in the opening verse — but mostly Madonna.
In the video those are actual shots from Madonna’s life. It’s not an elaborate production. (Just kidding.)
The reason Madonna has been a pop star since the 1980’s is that she keeps reinventing herself and learning new things. Now in her 60th year on the planet she is releasing new music with a Latin artist over half her age. But she has been interested in Latin American culture since before her hit song “La Isla Bonita” (1987). “Medellín” is the Columbian city where Maluma, aka Juan Luis Londoño Arias, was born. He is super famous there and has 41 million Instagram followers that could be real. Madonna met him at the MTV Music Awards and they totally connected.
Madonna wrote a poem about her new persona Madame X that explains everything.

Madame X is scheduled for release on June 14, 2019. It was produced by Madonna, Mirwais, Mike Dean and Diplo. It was partially recorded in Lisbon, Portugal and contains lyrics in English, Spanish and Portuguese. It was rumored she sang a track from the new album called “Beautiful Game” at the Met Gala. There is not a song by that name on the tracklist although it might have changed.
