The latest single by Galantis “Bones” featuring One Republic has a music video about skeletons exploring a magical theme park.
Swedish production duo Galantis and American boy band One Republic released a new single called “bones” with a theme park music video envisioned by AfterWeDead (AWD).
“And I know when it cuts deep down/ Through your chest into your soul/ That’s how you know, that’s how I know/ I feel it in my bones...” sings One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder in the chorus.
In the music video, produced by AWD, skeletons representing humans frolic in a theme park at night where Galantis is playing a DJ set. Sure it’s similar to the music video for the Chemical Brothers’ legendary track “Hey Boy Hey Girl” (1999) but this is a different style of EDM. That was drum n bass influenced house/techno and this is pop music produced by song writers.
AWD is a production house founded by Joe Cella and Spencer Hord, plus animation by Pix3lface. They are the ones that came up with the theme park of the dead concept. Other AWD clients include Hermitude, Kodak Black, Wiz Khalifa, Dan Leigh and Lil Baby, Finishline and Migos.
On their official Instagram account Galantis, aka Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw from Sweden, posted a map of the “Bones” theme park. As you can see it is shaped like a skull. There is a Galantis castle in the back, and roller coasters where the eyes are. There is a train and a haunted house.
“Bones” featuring One Republic will be part of the upcoming third studio length album by Galantis. They have yet to reveal a title or release date. But it is speculated to be released sometime in 2019.
