Pop stars Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana del Rey super collaborated on “Don’t Call Me Angel” for the new Charlie’s Angels soundtrack.
Don’t bother Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana del Rey with that fell from heaven line. The pop super group just released “Don’t Call Me Angel” from the soundtrack to the upcoming Charlies Angels (2019) film release directed by Elizabeth Banks who was in The Hunger Games (2012).
“See you here with somebody/ You sizin’ up my body/ Don’t you know that I bite/ when the sun set?/ So don’t you try come around me/ Might work with her, but not me…” sings Grande, the diva of the group.
“You know I, I don’t like that, boy/ I make my money, and I write the checks/ So say my name with a little respect/ All my girls successful, and you’re just our guest…” sings Miley Cyrus, the sexy one.
Then they slow down the tempo and Del Rey, the rebel, jumps on the end and sings the bridge, “I appreciate the way you want me, I can’t lie/ I drop it low, I back it up, I know you wanna think you’re mine/ Baby, I totally get it, you can’t guess so/ You can’t get me off your mind…“
They are wearing angel wings, but they don’t want to be called angels, which is confusing. Maybe it is a social commentary because sometime people don’t like certain words and freak out when you use them. But it makes them look like Victoria’s Secret models, which is too mainstream.
The song has song writing credits by Grande, Cyrus, Del Rey, Alma and more. It is being released on Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group.
You can watch the full length trailer for the action comedy on YouTube. Banks wrote the screenplay, directed it, and she is starring as a female Bosley. The Angels are played by Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska. And Patrick Stewart guest stars at some point.
Charlies Angels premiers on November 15, 2019. Search for your movie tickets via Fandango.
