The American Apparel Swim 2018 line includes new styles and best sellers in new colors! Check out the photoshoot in Barbados.
American Apparel headed to the tropics of the Caribbean for the Swim ’18 photoshoot and posted about it in their blog. They say they wanted to go, “Somewhere tropical, somewhere that feels like both a celebration and a breezy sanctuary.” They ended up choosing Barbados.
Once there they put out a casting call for local models, one of whom included this random beach dog. You can make out swimwear in the background while they pet him.
The Swim ’18 look book includes new styles such as one shoulder silhouettes, zip up construction and ruching. There are new prints like the Engineered Stripe, a multicolored vertical print. And timeless swim icons that have been reimagined. Plus there is, “Ass with some stretch marks,” as Kendrick Lamar put it, because the photos have not been heavily retouched.
This boat passenger is wearing the Ruched Brazilian Bikini Bottom in Poppy ($26) with the Nylon Tricot Cropped Tank Top ($28) also in Poppy.
Here we see the Metallic Triangle Sun Top in Gold ($26) with the matching Metallic Side Tie Sun Bottom ($26). Note it will lose some of it’s shininess if exposed to pool or salt water.
The Nylon Tricot Zip Up One Piece ($48) comes in Black (shown here), White, Engineered Stripe and Neon Yellow. The swimsuit features an O-ring zip up in the front.
The Nylon Tricot One Shoulder One Piece ($46) is made from smooth stretchy fabric in White, Black and Poppy. The back has a single thick strap and moderate bottom coverage.
Shown at the top in White and here in Red, the Nylon Tricot High-Cut One-Piece ($46) is the perfect cut for this season. And it comes in nine unique colors.
The Resort Swim Trunk ($46) is for gentlemen who want to show off their legs but still enjoy the breezy feeling of loose swim trunks. They come in six colors like neon yellow shown here.
The Metallic Deep Cut Sunsuit ($38) comes in new shades like Matte Black and Irridescent (shown here). That is similar to something a space goth would wear to a pool.
Once only acceptable for casino workers, the American Apparel Vinyl Visor ($24 each) is where it’s at for spring and summer of 2018. Sun protection is so important.
