M.I.A., Naomi and Valerie Campbell, Kristin Scott Thomas and Matt Smith are together for the holidays in the Burberry Christmas ad.
Quintessentially British brand Burberry wants you to close your eyes and think of Christmas in their holiday advertisement. But then we couldn’t see M.I.A. and Naomi Campbell rock Burberry.
Also appearing in the ad campaign, Valerie Morris-Campbell is Naomi’s mother. Kristin Scott Thomas and Matt Smith are award winning English actors from the BBC.
The short was directed by Juno Calypso. According to Burberry, “Juno explores the dance between the reality and fantasy of a very British Christmas, drawing on her own experiences and rituals; from the unpredictable British weather to family togetherness, delayed trains to festive feasts.”
On Instagram the brand explains that M.I.A. is wearing, “A dreamscape print silk shirt dress and hoop and kilt pin earrings.” Thomas can be spotted in one of their iconic trench coats.
According to Mathangi Arulpragasam, better known as M.I.A., “My favourite Christmas film is Home Alone 2. That’s what I usually have on repeat at home on Christmas Day because my son loves it.”
Campbell states, “I like Christmas. I like watching television, watching all those films that I used to watch when I was a child.”
