Backpackers Guide to Most Mystical Travel Locales

You want to go backpacking in a mystical travel locale. But which ones are the most mystical and stuff? Here is a list of them.

If you’re mystical AF it helps to get photos hiking around in boho outfits at the following travel destinations. There are so many magical landscapes and cute selfie ops. Definitely don’t crash land on that island from Lost (2004) while you’re traveling because you’ll get trapped in a never ending plot. Do check out the local DJ’s, EDM culture, and music and arts festivals.

New Orleans

A lot of esoteric films and television series took place in New Orleans, Louisiana, such as Interview with a Vampire (1994), Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2011), and Season 3 and 4 of American Horror Story (2013-2014). The Big Easy is a melting pot of English, French, Caribbean and African cultures. They speak a creole language of all these languages combined. There are a lot of jazz bars, historical buildings, cemeteries and French-Spanish Creole architecture.

Sedona

Located in Coconino County and Yavapai County, Arizona, Sedona, Arizona is best known for it’s red sandstone formations. Some of them have ancient petroglyphs carved on them by an ancient race of paleo Indians. They considered the place sacred because it is located over a vortex of energy. The town of Sedona has a vibrant arts community surrounded by 1.8 million acres of national forest land and over 300 hiking trails, including creeks and swimming holes.

Hawaii

Hawaii is also located on a vortex of great healing power. This guy seems to think so anyway. The southernmost tip of the big island is considered a specially sacred place where they offer cliff jumping and other fun activities. Ancient Hawaiians were indigenous people with their own language. They worshipped Pele the goddess of volcanos and fire. The story goes that of you steal one of her rocks from Hawaii she will get really angry and rain vengeance upon you.

Bali

Bali is an Indonesian island and province located in a gulf adjoined by the Java and Flores Sea. It is the principle tourist destination of Indonesia, and tourism makes up 80% of the economy. The isle is located in the Coral Triangle, or the triangular area of waters making up tropical marine waters in the south Pacific Ocean. Also called the Amazon of the Seas, it is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. Bali is home to monkey forest temples where tourists feed macaques.

Australia

The next most magical place to go on vacation is the Australian Outback. The Outback as it is referred to locally, is a deep-seated part of Australian history and culture. It has been inhabited by indigenous Australians for over 50,000 years. They worshiped a creator god known as the Rainbow Serpent. The Australian Outback is one of the largest areas of preserved land on the globe. It is home to cute animals found no where else, such as koalas, kangaroos and the platypus.

India

India is where the Buddha is from, and they invented yoga. They also have Medieval Indian architecture, a tropical climate, and animals like the leopard, tiger and Indian elephant. There are 22 official languages spoken in the country of India, including Hindi, English, Bengali, Urdu, Sanskrit and more. India is well known for their jewelry making. They have one of the largest gemstone markets in the world, so jewelry makers love to go shopping there.

Pretty much anyplace could be described as mystical but these have been some of the most unique. Travel safely and take safety precautions where ever you go. Remember if you wouldn’t do it at home then don’t do it in a hostel with some random you meet on social media.
