Wu Tang Clan and Milk Makeup are teaming up for their greatest adventure yet, the beauty industry. And they brought model/ninja Teyana Taylor.
RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa are not pretentious rappers who are afraid to show their feminine side by selling lipstick. So they collaborated with beauty brand Milk Makeup on a line of lip products.
In the promotional video for Wu-Tang x Milk Makeup, model Teyana Taylor does ninja stuff while wearing the new lipstick. She is clearly ready to kick ass at the office or in the nightclub.
The Wu-Tang x Milk Makeup Lip Color ($55 each) comes in eight shades ranging from nude to bright red. The Limited Edition Eight-Piece Set is available for $440. And there is a Limited Edition 24K Gold-Plated Mirror ($75), as well as a Limited Edition Pin Set ($18).
On their official Instagram account, Wu-Tang mentions, “WU-TANG X MILK MAKEUP 美 AVAILABLE NOW… We collaborated with @milkmakeup to unleash a limited-edition collection of 8 luxe Lip Colors that balance sacred Chinese ingredients with high-payoff colors. The longwear Lip Colors, each named after the eight earthly elements of the I Ching Trigrams ☯️ are housed in a specially-made component, revealing a custom-sculpted dragon upon opening.”
While Milk Makeup notes, “Our history with @wutangclan runs deep. Milk first came together with Wu-Tang back in 2012 to launch #NYFW with a historic concert in the @Milk Gallery. Our collaboration packaging features Wu-Tang’s famed “W” and an original graphic that combines the mandarin character for beauty with Milk Makeup’s logo.” Not only are they down with Wu-Tang Clan but they have been since 2012, if you don’t include the music listening history.
There is more Wu-Tang merchandise available from Urban Outfitters, including boxer briefs and a t-shirt with the ID Ol’ Dirty Bastard used to apply for food stamps on TV.
Wu-Tang x Milk Makeup beauty products are available at the official Milk Makeup website.
