The Gianni Versace Tribute Collection celebrates the life of the designer in a way that they feel is more fitting than a certain TV show.
Versace was one of the most iconic brands of the 80’s and 90’s. Today people are still interested in his life. They even produced an American Crime Story about it, which the family unequivocally does not endorse. You have to keep in mind it is the Hollywood version of events.
The Gianni Versace Tribute Collection is inspired by the 90’s line that launched them into legendary status. At the time Versace worked with some of the biggest celebrities in the world, such as Elizabeth Hurley, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Princess of Wales and Princess Caroline of Monaco.
After Gianni was assassinated, the Italian fashion house continued to thrive under the direction of his family. They were one of the first fashion labels to do collaborations in the 2000’s, which is so street, including the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 VERSACE, and the AgustaWestland AW109 Grand Versace VIP luxury helicopter, with custom designed Versace interior.
Here some of the best pieces from the new collection, as selected by Slutty Raver Costumes.
The Wild Baroque design is a throwback from 1992. If you’re really balling, nothing says class like an all Versace logo outfit that looks like something a New Jersey mob wife would wear while driving a convertible. There is the Wild Baroque Silk Foulard ($395), the Barocco SS’92 Bralette Top ($775) and the Barocco Icon Shoulder Bag ($2,325). They match perfectly with the Wild Barocco Print Leggings ($775), and the Baroque ’92 Print Sandals ($795).
The Tribute Medallion Handbag ($2,995) comes in both Black and White. It is a classic bowling bag style with a Versace bondage touch that is so extra for bowling league night.
A designer leather belt with a shiny buckle is a must have accessory this season that enhances almost every outfit. From left to right you see the Double Baroque Buckle Tribute Belt ($850), the Baroque Buckle Tribute Belt ($475) and the Trésor de la Mer Tribute Belt ($725).
Upgrade your bodysuit game in a Baroque SS’92 Print Bodysuit ($1,195), which has a Brazilian style thong in the back. There is also a Native Americans FW’92 Bodysuit ($875) sold online.
The Women’s Vintage Logo T-shirt ($350) comes in Green, Blue and Pink. It bears a 1980’s Versace logo on the front. Pink and blue are almost sold out but there are still many greens.
