The video for “Time Bomb” by the Prodigy takes cues from violent movies such as Fight Club (1999), Kill Bill (2003) and predecessors.
Dance music legends the Prodigy released their seventh studio length album No Tourists last month, including the instrumental “Time Bomb.” They have released an exciting visual about two heroes who win in an unfair fight against a lot of people. It is reminiscent of certain action movies.
Obviously the guy in handcuffs and the lady squeezing a Big Gulp must be the good guys. The are pitched in battle against larger bad guys who get weapons. But it probably works out. They leave room for a sequel at the end of the music video, which doesn’t really come to a conclusion.
The official video was directed by Paco Raterta, and produced by Maurizio Von Trapp.
Reactions were mixed on Instagram. One fan noted, “What happened to you boyz, you’ve lost the plot, don’t you remember the the early 90’s vibe of brotherhood and love, I guess you’ve made your choice, just remember this, ‘Satan is headshot and he likes fuckin kids but I bet he didn’t disclose that to you, you crossed the line and you can’t come back, I’m gutted I got a tattoo of your logo on my chest but il turn into a positive because once I had telepathy with ants…” (sic).
Let that be a lesson to you to think long and hard about tattooing people’s logos on your body — and not take psychotropic drugs before you make a public comment on Instagram.
