SZA mentioned on her Instagram she was selling “Sustainability Gang” sweatshirts to raise money to save the ocean. Details are forthcoming.
On Instagram, SZA, aka Solána Imani Rowe, vaguely hinted that she was releasing a collection of Sustainability Gang sweatshirts, possibly to save the ocean from plastic. She posted a pic of the new merch, which looks like a pretty standard Champion sweatshirt with embroidery on it.
SZA mentioned @ctrlfishingco on Instagram, a company that does not appear in a Google search. It could be the name of her new nonprofit organization, that or the Sustainability Gang.
In the comments section SZA answered questions about the new line. She says that 100% of proceeds will go to an organization that has yet to be announced. Famous actress Halle Berry shows her support with one hand raised emoji and two sparkle emojis. Then SZA responds to a fan that it will have something to do with sustainability x conservation events and summits.
Sustainability is defined as the avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance. One example is aquaponics, a system of farming that uses hydroponic and aquaculture farming techniques to raise fish and plants at the same time in a harmonious cycle.
Ocean plastic is a big issue right now, because there is a mass of plastic garbage floating out in the Pacific Ocean the size of Texas. Adidas x Parley recently introduced shoes made from recycled ocean plastic. And Flume did a documentary with Apple about the Great Barrier Reef.
Stay tuned to learn more about how to join SZA’s gang and fight straws stabbing turtle’s in the face, and birds and dolphins getting tangled up in fishing nets.
