In the new music video for “Where Would We Be” by ROZES x Nicky Romero, ROZES recounts her days in high school in Philadelphia.
After the success of the visual video last February, ROZES & Nicky Romero debuted a music video for their song “Where Would We Be” that takes place at ROZES’ old high school.
“Are you still in your basement/ Smoking weed with the same friends..?”
ROZES, aka Elizabeth Mencel, grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsyvania. Last February she told Billboard, “I never thought that one day I’d look back at high school and think, ‘Wow, I kinda miss it.’ This song is me learning that sometimes when we grow, we grow apart, and it’s not a bad thing, because it means we’re becoming who we’re truly meant to be.” She continues, “Even if we sometimes wonder what could’ve been.”
Nicky Romero said he was excited to be working with ROZES, who is best known for her song “Roses” produced by the Chainsmokers. “I couldn’t be more excited to collaborate on ‘Where Would We Be’ with ROZES,” he stated. “I love her voice, and as soon as I heard the demo, I knew we had to work on the song together. The song reminds me of growing up and what it was like to leave home when my career first started taking off.”
ROZES just dropped “Demons” with producer Felix Snow, and premiered it in Complex. Romero recently got to ride in a helicopter to his stadium show in Frankfurt, Germany.
