Last month Pharrell Williams dropped a track with Gesaffelstein, and announced Something in the Water festival this April 26-28 in Virginia Beach. Now it is more clear that he is the one having the music festival along with his manager, Ron Laffitte and friends like Janelle Monae and SZA.
- Dates: April 26-27, 2019
- Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia
- Headliners: Pharrell, Missy Elliot, Diplo, SZA, Janelle Monae, J. Balvin, Dave Matthews Band, Anderson Paak, Migos, Dram, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Virgil Abloh, Jaden Smith and more.

This is Williams’ first music festival and it is in the undeveloped market of Virginia Beach. But Virginia Beach happens to be his birthplace and hometown. It’s possible you may be able to avoid a Fyre Festival incident like with Ja Rule. And the event is being produced by Live Nation.
Also there is the question about what is in the water. What do they mean by “something” in the water? Are they spiking it with something, like LSD perhaps? Are they suggesting there is something in the water we should know about? Is it a magical metaphor for something? Or is it a horrifying reality such as ocean pollution? What is with the name of the festival?
According to the website, Something in the Water festival is all ages over five years old. There will be one stage that is set up on the beach, and appropriate footwear is encouraged. You can bring a smartphone but no photography equipment. They will be serving beer and wine only.
