The Levis Circles campaign features a dance routine video. And check out these neat jackets they made with random people.
Levi Strauss have been busy from their urban dwelling in San Francisco where they design the latest versions of the classic denim. There is their new commercial featuring dancers in Levi’s. And they recently dropped 50 custom jean jackets with 50 influential people to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the denim trucker jacket. It’s all in their blog Unzipped about the history of fashion and music.
Levi’s Circles Dance Video
The soundtrack to the video “Makeba” is provided by Jain. At the end of the video the words, “Men, women, young, old, gay, straight. Let’s live how we dance,” appear on the screen. This is reminiscent of early house music that was played at improvised discoteques where anyone could attend, such as David Mancuso’s parties in the Loft.
50 Years of Trucker Jackets
The 50 new Type III Trucker Jackets by Levi’s, “celebrate the DIY spirit that’s helped make it so popular over the last half-century.” Keep in mind they are San Francisco hipsters so they really dig music. The collaborations include Chance the Rapper, Diplo, Justice, Justin Timberlake, Solange Knowles, Snoop Dogg, Tinie Tempah and more.
Diplo’s jacket pictured above has an 80’s space vibe. According to the producer this is, “because the space shuttle in the 80’s was pretty big.” He is shown here wearing it in Los Angeles.
Justice went for a girlfriend jacket for men because they usually wear ladies denim jackets, especially the Canadian Tuxedo. Don’t they look stylish but also warm and comfortable?

They sell the trendier Levi’s styles at URBN stores such as Anthropologie, Free People and Urban Outfitters. Or you could visit the Levi’s Store at the mall and pay about the same price. Levi’s denim can be worn on most occasions but especially while dancing.
