Cat Power announced her first album in six years, called Wanderer, will arrive on October 5, 2018 via Domino Records.
Also known as Charlyn Marie “Chan” Marshall, the American singer-songwriter with long bangs, Cat Power is going to release an LP titled Wanderer later this fall. This is her first record since Sun in 2012. Before that there was an interval of four years with her previous album Jukebox (2008).
Cat Power, not to be confused with Pussy Power, made the announcement via an introductory video on YouTube. It shows her wandering through the California desert in all black holding a bouquet of white roses. She encourages us to pre-order Wanderer on vinyl in the description.
On Twitter Marshall wrote, “I’m SOOO happy to share this introduction to my new album with you (rose emoji x 3) it’s called “WANDERER” & it’s out October 5th… (butterfly emoji x 3) I hope you enjoy this journey with me xxxx.”
On Instagram she recently posted a photo of the album art and what the vinyl release looks like. It is available on preorder for $25, as well as the CD for $12. Note the blue and white wax.
