Mercer released a music video for his latest single “Boss” about a Balinese boy who dreams of becoming a cool biker one day.
French DJ Mercer is a member of DJ Snake‘s record label Premiere Classe. The music video for his latest single “Boss” takes place in Bali. It follows the life of a young local who sells candy to tourists so he can save enough money to refurbish a motorcycle and join a biker club.
“If you wanna be a boss, be a boss…” intone the only vocals in the track.
Most of the time when we hear about Bali it’s from a backpacker on social media, or some rich ladies who started a fashion label using fair trade labor. It’s refreshing to catch a glimpse of what life is like for some people who really live in Bali and have to sell trinkets to pay the bills.

Mercer, real name unknown, is associated with Pardon My French and Premiere Classe, along with Malaa and Tchami. DJ Snake just launched Premiere Classe last March and this is their seventh release. Mercer recently partnered with DJ Snake on an original production called “Let’s Get Ill” with vocals from Jermaine Dupri. His previous release was Neo Disco EP (2018) off Nurvous Records.
