In an unprecedented announcement Mariah Carey revealed that Skrillex produced a track called “The Distance” on her upcoming album.
Music fans don’t usually associate dubstep producer Skrillex with superstar pop and R&B singer Mariah Carey. So it was a surprise when she announced he produced a track called “The Distance” featuring Ty Dolla Sign off her upcoming album Caution. However it is a pop song not a bass track.
“Warm days, cold nights, late October/ Separated, people saying what we have is over/ But the hate only made us get closer (close!)/ And closer/ Said we couldn’t go the distance, yeah/ Look at us, we’re going the distance…” sings Carey in her angelic soprano with Ty Dolla Sign on backup.
On Carey’s official website it says that the 15-track studio album drops on November 16, 2018. You can pre-order it now to unlock three songs, “The Distance,” “With You” and “GTFO.”
On Instagram Skrillex, who seems to be going through a serious music producer phase, reposted Carey’s post, as did Ty Dolla Sign. This Friday Skrillex has a bass single coming out with Enjoyride called “Agen Wida” in which there is plenty of bass dropping. He is also known as Joyryde.
