Kesha’s latest single “My Own Dance” is a bittersweet synth pop song about partying and she parties in the music video as well.
For several years Kesha could not legally release music under the terms of her contract. Then she went through an angry folk music period. Now she is back again with “My Own Dance.”
“‘Well, the internet called and it wants you back/ But could you kinda rap and not be so sad?’ Fuck it/ What’s a girl to do? What’s a girl to do?/ Everybody, get out your nasty moves/ So let’s talk some shit and pour some booze, fuck it/ What’s a girl to do? Is this what you want? Fuck you…” sings Kesha over a danceable EDM influenced beat. It is reminiscent of “Tik Tok” only more pissed off.
The song will be on the singer’s upcoming album High Road along with “High Road” featuring Big Freedia. The LP is scheduled for release on January 10, 2020 via RCA Records/Sony Music.
