The music video for “Carry On” by Kygo and Rita Ora contains clips from Detective Pikachu because it is on the soundtrack.
“Carry On” by Kygo and Rita Ora is our first listen from the soundtrack to the highly anticipated movie Pokemon: Detective Pikachu. In the official video Rita Ora is shown investigating something in between clips from the movie. She wears a raincoat that is yellow like Pikachu is.
“You, you found me/ Made me into something new/ Led me through the deepest waters/ I promise loud to carry on for you…” sings Ora in lyrics that seem intense for a cartoon about an electric rodent.
Kygo, or Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll from Norway, does not appear in the music video.
Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is set for release on May 10, 2019. Producers are projecting it will gross $50 million in the opening weekend. The soundtrack will be released concurrently with the movie. The film was scored by Henry Jackman. It also includes “Electricity” by Lil Uzi Vert, which was produced by Pharrell Williams. That track hasn’t been released yet.
On her official Instagram account Ora posted another “clue” with pictures. She is wearing the same yellow raincoat and using a flashlight. In the second image she inspects something with a magnifying glass. But all the tabloids point out is that she isn’t wearing a bra in the previous photo on her account, like we can’t tell. Isn’t it amazing how celebrities have nipples just like you and me?
In lieu of the film you can buy Pokemon: Detective Pikachu merch exclusively at Hot Topic, including shirts and action figures.
