Grimes has a sci-fi themed music video to go with her latest single “Delete Forever” and her new album Miss_Anthrop0cene out now.
Claire “Grimes” Boucher just dropped her fifth studio length album Miss_Anthrop0cene via 4AD Records. In the music video she dresses up like an anime character in an outer space scene.
“Lying so awake, things I can’t escape/ Lately, I just turn ’em into demons/ Flew into the sun, fucking heroin/ Lately I just turn ’em into reasons and excuses…” sings Grimes in the opening lines.
The title of the album is a portmanteau of the words “miss,” “misanthrope” and “anthropocene.” A misanthrope is a person that dislikes or mistrusts humanity. Anthropocene is the geological epic that began when humans first had a significant impact on the ecology. Grimes is mad about climate change you guys, and she made this album about it.
