Get along now little Dior-gy. Here’s how to ride into the sunset with the AW 18 Dior Saddle Bag, and the Onstage Liner in bright colors.
The Dior Saddle Bag was a big deal around 2014 when it appeared in several episodes of Sex in the City. And Beyonce carried a vintage one very obviously so that the London paparazzi could get a good shot of the trademark D-shaped hardware. The piece is still considered desirable used. You can buy them on Ebay for about $200 to $500 from various sellers.
However now the a new version of the Dior Saddle Bag has been spotted on the Autumn 2018 runway show. The western inspired handbags don’t hit stores until later this year.
Maria Grazia Chiuri, Artistic Director at Christian Dior, explained the upcoming collection is inspired by the late 60’s and early 70’s in a press statement at their website. “The sixties were about personalities,” she said. “It was the first time when mannequins became personalities. It was a time of great goals, an inventive time… and these girls invented themselves.”
The Autumn-Winter 2018-2019 collection includes patchwork fabrics, thigh high motorcycle boots, flowing organza dresses, black leather suits, colorful eyewear and brimmed caps.
The models were also wearing a new beauty product called Dior Onstage Liner that is not yet available in stores. It looks like a bright liquid eyeliner that comes in black, green, blue, pink, orange-red and tangerine. However they sell Dior Liquid Eyeliner in Black for $35 at Sephora.
Right now the Dior Summer 2018 line is only available in select boutiques. The Autumn and Winter 2018-2019 stuff should show up on their website soon.
Rather than going back to the 60’s again you could try being more future. This is like that time when we went back to the disco days with these key wardrobe staples.
