The recording of the orchestral performance for Where’s the Drop by Deadmau5 is available exclusively via Tidal. Or pre-order the vinyl.
When Mau5trap Recordings released Where’s the Drop exclusively through Tidal, some of his fans complained. Deadmau5, a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman, stated that he needed the money to pay the orchestra via Twitter. However the album is scheduled to be released on vinyl and digital mediums this June, after a period of mutual exclusivity.
exclusivity pays for the albums massive production costs. This isnt a laptop album. hundreds of humans who need to all get paid worked on this. https://t.co/lxBUyqPI7D

Where’s the Drop is an hour and seven minute long live recording of orchestral covers of Deadmau5 songs. It was recorded by Deadmau5 and musical director Gregory Reveret with the 73-piece CRM Orchestra playing real instruments in Los Angeles’s famous East West studios.
If you love the rich, warm sound of analog, then pre-order a copy of Where’s the Drop on vinyl, available online at Mau5trap’s official website. Your copy will ship during the first week of June. Then you can enjoy the live performance over and over again. Be sure to listen for the drop.
