The new Cheat Codes song “Balenciaga” is an ode to street fashion and unrequited love. It could even be about Demi Lovato.
Cheat Codes is Trevor Dahl, Kevin Ford and Matthew Russell from Los Angeles. You might remember them from “No Promises” featuring Demi Lovato, which was on the radio. Now they are back with “Balenciaga” the second single from Level 1 EP that is not out yet.
Balenciaga is the number one selling fashion label in the world, partly because it’s brand name is so trendy. But they not actually street fashion at all, they are a French fashion house that only wealthy people can really afford. Since Lovato is more famous than they are, maybe the song is about her? Or the song could be about someone else we just pissed off (hopefully), or no one.
Consider the lyrics:
I wonder, baby, do I even bother/ Do you ever think about me?/ Bought you Balenciaga and Prada/ That boujee kinda love ain’t shit/ I wonder, baby, do I even bother/ Do you ever think about me?/ Bought you Balenciaga and Prada/ Do you ever..?

The electronic trio says the track is, “A real crowdpleaser that bridges the gap between the US group’s vocal work and straight up electro house.” It starts out with an pop hook, and then goes off into and electro house section suitable for shuffle dancing, and then repeats.
The new track is out now on Spinnin’ Records. Download and/or stream “Balenciaga” by Cheat Codes from your preferred music provider.
