3. Billabong

Wear the Billabong She Sings Top ($34.95) at the beach or in any other casual situation. The tomboy muscle tee has embroidery details. The 100% cotton tank was made in Hong Kong.

4. Free People

The Free People Rib Brami ($28) combines the best of a bra with a cami into a top. It’s similar to wearing a bralette as a top. The rayon/nylon/spandex garment was probably made in China.

5. Express

The Express Solid Scoop Neck Tank ($24.90) is a cotton-poly blend with a scoop neck and a comfortable fit. Express sources their products internationally.

6. American Apparel

The American Apparel 2×2 Classic Tank Top ($18) was really imported from overseas by a Canadian corporation. The unisex white tank top is mostly cotton and 5% spandex.

7. J.Crew

The J.Crew Tank Top in Supima® Cotton (On sale for $17.99) was originally priced at $24.50. Supima cotton is grown in the US. But the shirt was made in an overseas factory.

8. Gap

The Gap Modern Tank ($15) comes in eight different colors and neutrals. It is a Supima cotton and polyestor blend that was probably made in China or Bangladesh.

9. Cotton On

Not one to be outdone the Cotton On Maria Tank Top ($14.95) comes in 15 different shades and patterns. The tank is 95% viscose or rayon and 5% elastane. It was made in southeast Asia.

10. Topshop

The Topshop Lil Stretch Crop Tank ($10) comes in White, Grey Marl and Black. The crop tank is 93% cotton and 7% Lycra® spandex. The imported item is machine wash, dry flat.

11. ASOS

The ASOS Ultimate Tank ($8) is a soft knit jersey with a scoop neck. It is part of the Better Cotton Initiative that promotes better standards in cotton across 24 countries.

12. Target

At Target, the A New Day™ Women’s Loose Tank ($8) comes in seven unique colors. The imported garment is 95% rayon and 5% spandex.

13. Aeropostale

The Aeropostale LLD Ribbed Racerback Tank ($6) is a ribbed rayon tank top that is soft and stretchy. It was manufactured overseas. The care instructions are hand wash, dry flat.

14. Forever 21

Forever 21 has about a million white tank tops, such as the Ribbed Lettuce-Edge Crop Top ($5.90). The cotton-poly blend tank was made in Vietnam. It is already cropped for you.

15. Charlotte Russe

Alternatively the Charlotte Russe Lettuce-Trim Cami Top ($5.25) is a jersey knit with everything you really need to avoid arrest for public nudity. It was made internationally.

When shopping for basic white tanks and camis, keep in mind that it will have to be replaced more than other items. Choose one made from the material and origin that is right for you. Try wearing it with jeans, shorts, track pants or stretch pants for a super sexy, low maintenance outfit.
