Summer is a relaxed time when people wear casual clothes to enjoy outdoor activities or go on vacation. It’s an ideal occasion to work the neon hair trend into your daily look. But you don’t have to dye all of the hair on your head, because this season neon hair tips are popping up more often.

1. Russia
Aliya Askarova is a hairstylist in Russia, as well as a Creative Director, coach and unicorn hair specialist. Here are some neon pink and violet hair tips she did on a brunette with long hair.
2. Virginia
Dajana Kvakic, Bosnian Beauty Specialist, is the owner of Prim Hair Salon in Roanoke. This “Confetti Blowout” collaboration was done with the Lady of the Hair.
3. New Zealand
It looks like Gayb Kirkpatrick, a hair stylist in Gisborne, got bored one day and decided to give her blonde hair a unicorn highlight, and then to post it on Instagram.
4. Houston, Texas
Chameleon Creations is a Master of Morph and color specialist at the Upper Hand Salon. Here is their interpretation of aurora borealis hair using a combination of green hair dyes.
5. Austin, Texas
Freak Flag by Iana calls this one Bioluminescent Medusa. She used a lot of color but only the neon green tips glow in the dark, making her easier to locate at nightlife events.
6. Tennessee
In Nashville, Judy Stormshak owns the August Pearl Salon. She is a member of the Unicorn Tribe, and specializes in blowouts and extensions. And she has neon tips on her own head.
7. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Jordanne Paints Hair works at the Pittsburgh Hair Salon, and is a member of the Unicorn Tribe as well. She recently completed these frosted neon tips, which she dubbed the Holographic Pixie.
8. Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania
Mathew Evan Ocasio of the Style Tee Salon did this version of aurora borealis hair with an entire prism of neon hair colors called Lemon, Cupid, Blush, Velvet, Jam, Nirvana and Nightfall.

Sunnie Michaelis is a raver, psychedelic freak and vegetarian who loves psy-trance and YouTube. And she is a female gamer and a vlogger that enjoys Kingdom Hearts and Zelda.

Hair stylist Taylor Norrie produced these subtle neon yellow highlights for a recent client at the Platinum Salon and Spa. She used Pravana Vivids hair dye.

Neon hair tips are a more low key version of a full blown ombre that are making waves this spring and summer. If you want to do something different with your hair, but you have a job, then neon hair tips and partial ombres are a nice alternative to more extreme hair coloring techniques.
