Coco Chanel made her first quilted bag in 1929. As the innovators they can charge double what the other fashion houses do. This is the Flap Bag ($4,900) in coral and gold tone hardware.
2. Versace
The Versace Icon Medium Logo-Quilted Napa Shoulder Bag ($2,295) is made from Nappa leather, which means it was dyed black. It bears two iconic gold Medusa head medallions on the front.
3. Dolce & Gabbana
The Dolce & Gabanna Devotion Large Quilted Crossbody Bag ($2,195) comes in black, white or red calf leather. It features the sacred heart logo seal with pearly bow and petal edging.
4. Miu Miu
The Miu Miu Crystal Embellished Leather Crossbody ($1,950) comes in silver lambskin. It has a lot of extra features such as the crystal brooches and a faux pearl embellished chain strap.
5. Yves Saint Laurent
The Saint Laurent Loulou Matelassé Leather Shoulder Bag ($1,950) comes in seven distinct colors. It is made of supple leather with matelassé stitching and monogram hardware on a chain strap.
6. Balenciaga
The Balenciaga Black Souvenir Charm Bag ($1,890) is a quilted velvet shoulder bag embroidered with a pattern of logos. Best of all the chain has carved charms that were inspired by Paris.

Behold the Gucci Quilted Metallic Leather Shoulder Bag ($1,790) with a braided strap and diamond texture. The bag has metallic pink and baby blue leather, and rose-print lining inside.

13. Longchamp
Longchamp Paris makes those big tote bags with the red lining. The Amazone Matelassé Small Leather Shoulder Bag ($995) in quilted lambskin has the same signature red lining.

The Furla Bomber Leather Shoulder Bag ($578) is made from gold metallic leather quilted in a star shaped pattern. The gold tone chain strap is chunkier than previous models shown here.

The Tory Burch Star Stud Flat Crossbody Wallet ($398) is a crossbody wallet bag in star-studded lamb leather. They design other quilted bags but this style has star studs on it.

Meanwhile the Coach Rivets Quilted Leather Camera Bag ($350) features rainbow-colored rivets in a chevron shape on the front. The metal hardware and chain strap are silver-tone.

Most of these small matelassé cross bodies and shoulder bags are made out of leather products, except for the Stella McCartney. If you don’t wear dead animal skin then you’re in luck because it makes more sense to buy a less costly purse in faux leather. These have been the 20 sluttiest quilted-chevron bags of 2018. Maybe that is why they are so popular.
