Lil Yachty Gets Steve Aoki to Collaborate on ‘Pretender’

Days after he tweeted he wants to do more EDM festivals, Lil Yachty is featured on Steve Aoki’s new single “Pretender” with AJR.

The song “Pretender” by Steve Aoki featuring Lil Yachty and AJR is here. In the stirring mix of EDM, hip hop and pop music, the rappers talk about how they have insecurities just like everyone else.

Complex points out that Aoki tweeted about “Pretender” last April. But no one really put it together when Lil Yachty tweeted that he wants to do more EDM festivals — obviously to chase raver booty.

This is because Deadmau5 distracted them by replying even though he wasn’t really asked.

To which Lil Yachty responded haughtily that he wasn’t even interested.

Luckily Aoki is still willing to work with him. Actually this is their second collaboration. The first being “Night Call” with Migos. The electro house DJ has been working with a lot of Top 40 rappers lately. His fourth studio album Kolony (2017) features Gucci Mane, iLoveMakonnen, Wale, Sonny Digital, 2 Chainz, Migos, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty and more.
