Holiday Gift Guide for EDM Fans That Doesn’t Suck

Despite your stereotypical notions about rave culture you cannot simply gift a raver fluffies and kandi during the holidays.

The EDM fan in your life doesn’t need another person judging them for being too future. Even though it’s the thought that counts, glow-in-the-dark gloves, rave paint and a tutu are kind of an insult. Electronic dance music is just as much of a genre as any music.

This holiday 2017 gift guide for EDM fans was selected by EDM fans at Slutty Raver Costumes. Click on the images to learn more about each product in the online store before the Black Friday rush.

1. A Metallic Bodysuit

American Apparel is back under new management bringing their assortment of basic body suits and cat suits with them. The metallic sunsuit and bikinis can be worked into many looks for raves and music festivals, such as SnowGlobe 2017 and Holy Ship 2018.

2. Tall Socks or Leg Warmers

Nothing makes a better Christmas present than socks. Ravers need leg warmers or tall socks to layer with fishnet tights and boots. It also keeps heat from escaping through the extremities.

3. A Digital Record Player

EDM fans appreciate all music and they need a record player to listen to vinyl so they can get inspiration for digital music production. This turntable connects to a USB drive to record audio. So music producers can make samples and then remix them into a beat.

4. A Portable Synthesizer

EDM producers use keyboard synthesizers to make dance music. Like any musical instrument these can be very pricey. But a portable synth is a fun stocking stuffer that makes cool arcade sounds. This is a good start, like when Joni Mitchell got a ukulele for Christmas.

5. An Evening Clutch or Wristlet

A small cross body or clutch is better for going to events where you only need a few items. This velvet wristlet has a chain strap that doubles as a shoulder bag. It resembles the Christian Louboutin Paloma Embellished Velvet Clutch that is available for pre-order at $1690, which would make a better present if you like designer bags.

6. DJ Controller + Software

The best part about EDM is that anyone that hears it instantly turns into a DJ. A DJ controller is a great way to learn the basics of beat matching, and throw 90’s dance parties at home. Don’t forget the DJ software or it won’t work. The industry standard is Serato DJ, which is only $100. They will also need a laptop. Both Mac and PC is fine.
